Microsoft will launch Surface 3 and Surface Mini before Christmas

surface_pro2The latest rumours suggest that Microsoft will have two new tablets ready for market before the end of 2014, according to TK Tech News.

Following hot on the heels of the announcement of Windows 10, the Surface 3 and the Surface Mini are thought to be in development at the moment, with the software giant apparently pushing for them to make their debut in the run up to Christmas.

Whether or not this will actually be possible is a different matter, especially since very little info on either of these devices has emerged so far, suggesting that they are still in the early stages of being created.

The Surface 3 will follow on from the Surface 2, offering a combination of tablet and laptop experiences wrapped up in a portable, professional package aimed at taking on the full sized iPad family.

The Surface Mini will presumably be a rival to the iPad Mini, although it will be interesting to see how similar the two devices are and whether Microsoft will be able to pare down Windows into a small package that is still as practical to use as its bigger brother.
