Sony Vaio-Z Leaked

The VAIO and Z Series laptops from Sony are being incrementally improved in a series of hardware changes, which some are seeing as a prelude to the announcement of the first Ultrabook from the company.

In short, the VAOI and Z Series families, along with the E Series, will be getting the latest versions of Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors clocked at up to 3.5GHz. Solid stat storage will also be an option on all three ranges for those who are tired of hearing the moving parts of their hard drive whirring into action each time they boot up Windows.

Perhaps most interesting is the news that US customers will be able to buy a Z Series laptop with an integrated LTE modem. For the uninitiated, LTE is the next generation of mobile broadband and although it is currently unavailable in the UK, it should be coming within the next year or so, which hints at the future capabilities of laptops launching on our shores.

Sony is thought to be joining other manufacturers in releasing high end Ultrabook laptops, although so far, it has refrained from giving out any details in this particular area of work.
